DESCRIPTION:The West Seneca Chamber of Commerce will introduce a series of six “Walk & Talk” events to take place on six different walking trails during the coming weeks. The series will be an informal opportunity for Chamber members and nonmembers to network while enjoying some fresh air and a healthy activity for mind and body. \n“With so many of our in-person events cancelled this year due to the pandemic\, we wanted to do something that would still bring West Seneca’s business and organizational leaders together\, but in a safe environment\,” said Joe Kirchmyer\, executive director of the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce. “West Seneca has six parks that have walking trails\, so we thought we’d take advantage of our beautiful summer and fall weather to check out these walking trails and talk about the West Seneca business community.” \nThe Walk & Talk events are free and open to the public. Social distancing will be enforced\, and all participants will be asked to wear a mask. \nFollowing is the Walk & Talk schedule. All events will take place and noon sharp:\n• Wednesday\, Aug. 26\, Burchfield Park\, Union Road and Race Street. (This is the only park without a paved path\, so be sure to wear appropriate footwear.)\n• Wednesday\, Sept. 2\, Harlem Road Park\, just north of the intersection of Seneca Street and Harlem Road.\n• Wednesday\, Sept. 9\, Switzer Park (formerly Knox Park)\, off Knox Avenue between Indian Church Road and Mineral Springs.\n• Wednesday\, Sept. 16\, Tim Russert Park\, on Indian Church Road just west of Harlem Road.\n• Wednesday\, Sept. 23\, West Seneca Soccer Complex\, off Seneca Street.\n• Wednesday\, Sept. 30\, Sunshine Park\, located on the eastern end of East & West Road\, just before Leydecker Road. \nIn the event of inclement weather\, events will be cancelled. SUMMARY:Sexual Harassment Prevention Training & Diversity Seminar
DESCRIPTION:The West Seneca Chamber of Commerce\, in partnership with Enterprise Learning LLC and Peter LePore\, will offer a one-hour online session covering both New York State sexual harassment prevention training and diversity/inclusion strategies. Held via the Zoom platform\, the session will be offered from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday\, Sept. 15. \nThe NYS Sexual Harassment Prevention Training portion will be an interactive refresher session to ensure organizational compliance using state-certified curriculum. The diversity/inclusion segment will feature three simple actions you can take that will advance your company or organization’s diversity/inclusion and belonging strategy. The cost for the one-hour session is $20 per person\, and participants will receive NYS Sexual Harassment Prevention and Engaging Diversity and Inclusion certificates upon completion. \nPeter LePore is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and chair  of its Diversity Advisory Council.  \nReservations are required for the one-hour seminar.
