Free and open to the public\, each section of the show will feature approximately 10 vendors.  \nThe trade show will take place in the building’s Martha Burchfield Richter Atrium and will feature the following vendors: Author Wendy Wasner\, CM Travel Agency\, DMJ Masonry Inc.\, Family Help Center\, H&H Small Engine Sales & Service\, New York Life Insurance Co.\, Signature HomeStyles\, Value Vision\, Western New York Federal Credit Union and the West Seneca Art Society. \nThe wellness fair will be offered in the Community Center’s gym and will feature the following vendors: Chiro First Wellness Center\, Clarity Group of New York\, Horizon Martial Arts\, Hoy Funeral Home\, Lawley Insurance\, Meichle Latham LCSWR\, ProActive Sports Rehab\, Seneca Springs Wellness\, Spectrum Health & Human Services and West Seneca Youth & Recreation. \nThe job fair will take place in the large meeting room and will feature the following vendors: Clarity Group of New York\, Continental School of Beauty\, Howard Hanna\, New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities\, Seneca Health Care Center\, United Materials and Weed Man Lawn Care. \nOther participating vendors throughout the building will include Brand Impressions\, Kirchmyer Media & Memorabilia\, Transworld Business Advisors of Buffalo\, Vaughn Collectibles\, West Seneca Chamber of Commerce and the West Seneca Lions Club. Valuation topics discussed will include the approaches and calculations for a business ownership value for various purposes such as selling/buying a business\, buyouts\, taxes\, estate planning\, litigation\, etc. Also discussed will be adjustments for partial ownership positions. \n• 11 a.m.: Linda Catalano and Keith Weslowski of Legal Shield will speak on the topic of Legal & Identity Protection. They will address ID theft and how it is affecting millions\, and will educate you on protecting yourself. \n• 11:45 a.m.: Matthew McAnulty of Sgroi Financial will speak on the topic of Tax Planning in Retirement. This talk will cover what everyone needs to know about taxes in retirement. When someone plans on retiring\, or is already retired\, they will often ask: Is my Social Security taxable? How is my pension taxed? How do taxes affect my retirement account distributions? What are required minimum distributions? If I have an annuity\, will that be taxed? What type of accounts are taxable\, maybe taxable\, and never taxable? How are inheritances taxed to my heirs? Get answers to these questions and more to help make retiring easier. \n• 12:30 p.m. Allen Dembski of Buffalo First Wealth Management will speak on the topic Three Secrets of Financial Wellness. Dembski will discuss three of the most important secrets to help create financial wellness: Why cash flow matters\, why we spend\, and four areas of financial decisions. Financial wellness can be described as a personal journey that helps people feel comfortable about their finances. He will also cover the choices we make and how they align with our values\, goals\, and the ability to achieve financial security. \n• 1:15 p.m. Ann Bowback of Spectrum Health & Human Services will speak on the topic of Narcan. Spectrum offers mental health and substance use disorder counseling to adults\, adolescents and children in WNY. Naloxone (Narcan) is a medication used to treat an opiate overdose in emergency situations. This training will show individuals how to identify an overdose\, how to administer the medication and what to do after giving it. \nMeeting Room off Atrium: \n• 10:45 a.m. Jim Suchocki of Primerica will speak on the topic of Financial Tax Shelters. Whether you are saving for a home\, college or retirement\, knowing what tax shelters are available can be equally as important as the investment. You’ll explore the concepts of tax-deferred\, tax-deductible and tax-exempt tools to compliment your investment strategies. \n• 11:30 p.m. Brian Wirth of Clarity Group of New York will speak on the topic Medicare Changes. He will discuss the sweeping changes in the Medicare Part D Plan Re-Design for 2025 as part of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 requirements\, as well as how these changes may affect a Medicare beneficiaries’ plan benefits and costs as of January. \n• 12:45 p.m. Maralynn Johnson\, LMT\, will speak on the topic of How Stress Affects the Body. DESCRIPTION:The West Seneca Chamber of Commerce will host its 33rd annual golf tournament on Thursday\, Aug. 8\, at Chestnut Hill Country Club\, 1330 Broadway\, Darien Center. Registration begins at 9 a.m.\, with a shotgun start set for 10 a.m.  \n“We like to change the venue every few years to give our golfers a change of scenery and an opportunity to experience a different course\,” said Joe Kirchmyer\, executive director of the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce. “As a nonprofit organization\, this is our largest fundraising event of the year and it’s very important to us that our participants and sponsors have a great time networking and playing 18 holes. We truly appreciate the support we receive from the community as it helps us provide year-round programming utilized by local businesses\, organizations and residents.” \nIn addition to a traditional scramble format\, the outing will feature lunch at the turn\, a steak dinner\, door prizes\, a sports memorabilia silent auction\, split club and other raffles\, beverage carts on the course\, and several contests including closest to the pin\, longest drive and putting. There will also be prizes for the golfers with the best team score\, as well as other surprises throughout the day! \nThe cost is just $125 per golfer\, and foursomes are encouraged. The event is open to both Chamber members and nonmembers\, and reservations are required. Light refreshments will be provided\, and doors will open at 3:45 p.m. \n“These casual networking events are very popular among our members and guests\, and we’ve recently started taking them to member locations to give our participants a change of scenery and an opportunity to visit some businesses that they may have never entered before\,” said Joe Kirchmyer\, executive director of the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce. “At these meetings\, participants have approximately one minute to introduce themselves and give a brief update on their business or organization as we go around the room. And\, we’ve seen several new business relationships and transactions come out of past meetings.” \nIn addition to having a one-minute spotlight\, attendees will have extra time to network with other business and organizational leaders following the meeting. DESCRIPTION:The West Seneca Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the winners of the organization’s 77th annual Community Awards. An awards dinner will take place on Feb. 15 at Kloc’s Grove in West Seneca. \nBusiness of the Year\, Steppin’ Out Dance Academy: When they’re not busy practicing routines in the dance studio\, dancers and staff at Steppin’ Out Dance Academy in West Seneca are busy contributing in many ways to organizations and events in our community such as the PUNT Pediatric Cancer Collaborative\, Dance Hope Cure\, Dancers Give Back\, Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the West Seneca Community Food Pantry. “We feel it’s key for our dancers to understand the importance of giving back to the community\,” said Steppin’ Out owner Patty Pawlowski. \nChamber Member of the Year\, Western New York Federal Credit Union: WNY Federal Credit Union loves West Seneca\, and it’s pretty obvious. Not only did they expand their Union Road location in 2023\, but they are always supporting local events and organizations\, including the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce. WNYFCU sponsors all of the Chamber’s major events and activities\, including the organization’s Community Food Drives\, Community Awards Dinner\, Women In Business Breakfast\, Golf Tournament\, Community Guide\, BurchFest and Christmas Tree & Art Auction\, and they were the first to step up to sponsor the Chamber’s 2024 Eclipse event that will take place in April. They are also a long-time sponsor the West Seneca Farmers’ Market\, which has become an incubator for local businesses and a favorite among shoppers and vendors. \nCitizen of the Year\, Jennifer McAndrew: Jennifer serves as executive director of Plymouth Crossroads\, a nonprofit organization that offers residential supports for runaway and homeless males ages 16 to 20 in an atmosphere supporting dignity\, respect and self-sufficiency. A proud resident of our town for more than two decades\, she has also been involved with several other local organizations over the years\, including the Trinity Food Pantry\, Boy Scouts\, South Buffalo Charter School\, Brownies and 4H. \nCommunity Service Organization of the Year\, Spectrum Health & Human Services: Founded in 1973 to provide behavioral health and substance abuse counseling\, Spectrum Health & Human Services staffs a busy office in West Seneca\, hosts the annual Not One More: Stand Together to End Overdose event in Veterans Park\, offers monthly outreach visits in the West Seneca Community Center & Library\, and much more. The organization is committed to serving the West Seneca community and contributing to the town’s growth\, health and vibrancy.  \nEducator of the Year\, Rosalia Carraba: An employee of the West Seneca Central School District since 2001\, Rosalia is a librarian at West Seneca East Middle School and is extremely proud of her involvement in the Reading Rover program\, a unique initiative that brings books into the West Seneca community.  \nGerald Hathaway Young Entrepreneur of the Year\, Andrew Frelock: Andrew\, a senior at West Seneca West High School and a member of the Business & Finance Academy\, served as a summer intern for the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce\, assisting vendors and customers at the weekly West Seneca Farmers’ Market. An avid fisherman\, Andrew is also an entrepreneur who enjoys making handcrafted fishing lures in his spare time. He had an opportunity to test those entrepreneurial skills when he was invited to display and sell his lures for one week at the farmers’ market and again at the town’s holiday marketplace.
