SUMMARY:Community Food Drive

These reusable cards feature special discount offers from 20 local shops\, restaurants and services. Additionally\, all donors will be entered into a raffle to win a cutting board\, lantern and set of West Seneca coasters courtesy of the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce and Shell Fab Countertops & Casework. \nNonperishable food items can be dropped off at the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce office in the West Seneca Community Center & Library\, 1300 Union Road\, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. SUMMARY:BBB Webinar: Diversity 2.0 and Leadership
DESCRIPTION:Diversity 2.0 and Leadership: Better Business Bureau of Upstate New York is excited to welcome Gwen Webber-McLeod and the team at Gwen\, Inc. (a BBB Accredited Business) for this informative webinar.\n\n\n\nDuring this interactive webinar\, you will:\n• Discuss recruitment & retention strategies with a focus on hiring & retaining the Unexpected Leader®.\n• Examine the impact of implicit bias & micro-aggression in creating company cultures that support Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) initiatives.\n• Discuss methods of integrating new learning into ongoing D&I efforts in your company.\n\n\n\nWhy you need to attend this webinar? Organizations\, businesses\, and government agencies are motivated by several factors to implement diversity initiatives. Typically\, a business is motivated by the following:\n• It is the right thing to do. Leaders believe diversity is an important concept for societal reasons. Additionally\, it is the right thing to do because local\, state\, and federal entities\nmandate compliance with certain laws and regulations.\n• It is about the bottom line. Leaders recognize the opportunity to increase business opportunities by strategically aligning with diverse populations as potential customers and clients.\n• None of Us Is Smarter Than All of Us. Leaders recognize the power of “collective intellect” and diverse perspectives on the achievement of business goals. They strategically build a diverse workforce with the intention of attracting the best and brightest minds to contribute to the achievement of business goals.\n\n\n\nThis webinar is free and open to BBB Accredited Businesses and Community Partners. To register\, please visit https://register.gotowebinar.com/regi…/1476154144011378960

SUMMARY:GEICO Power Lunch Series: One-minute Networking
DESCRIPTION:The fourth in a series of six GEICO Power Lunch Series events presented by the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce will take place from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday\, Aug. 19\, via the online Zoom platform. Instead of a featured speaker\, all participants will have a minute or two to give an update on the status of their business or organization. \n“We did one-minute networking during an in-person GEICO lunch event last year\, and it was extremely successful … and lots of fun\,” said Joe Kirchmyer\, executive director of the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce. “I see no reason why it can’t be just as successful in an online format. It’s still a great way to meet other local business owners and organizational directors in a very informal environment\, and an opportunity to share information and ask business-related questions.” \nIf interested in participating in this Zoom networking opportunity\, please email director@westseneca.org or call 674-4900 to RSVP and request log-in credentials. The meeting is open to both Chamber members and future members. \nSpecial thanks to event sponsor GEICO Local Office Southgate Plaza\, as well as technology host Surdej Web Solutions LLC\, for making this event possible.  \nFor more information on the GEICO Local Office in West Seneca\, located in the Southgate Plaza\, please call 604-0345.
